This assignment is portraiture technology. I can edit my photo with Photo shop or other sites, which edits photos. My edited self portrait should explain who I am. Aim of this assignment is to express myself by photos and find out real HANAA. on our portraiture we should include special and unique things about us and symbols that can show ourselves. I think this project is helping me to communicate with others and expressing myself. My dream is becoming a skillful and good movie director for these I should learn how to interact with my society and make people understand me in a right way. This project helps us to improve our community and service skill in AOI.

In first class of this project we took own photos. After we took Mrs.Wilson sent us our self portrait photos by e.mail. I went to home and checked my email and found out that she sent me wrong photos. So I had to edit another photo of mine from my computer. However I think I found better one that can explain my characteristic. Actually I don’t change and work on my photos very often so I am not really used to those kind of programs. Because of that it was hard to change my self and express inner me. I didn’t really add symbols, I just highlighted my name in Korean and black whited my face with background. I could have learned more about photo shop and use it. Also another way to make my product better was to think more about myself. If I do this project again I would make my product more colorful and bright, because I think my characteristic is cheerful and bright. :D
For me my name is really important. HANAA, this is my name which given by my Korean grandfather, who I love even I don’t remember the times with him. He died when I was 4 months, but I feel very close with him when I see his photos and hear about his story. My parents said grandfather gave my name, Hanaa. It means “one” in Korean he meant to combine all things in one and make whole world one, with this name. that’s why I love my name “making all things in one”. These is the reason I feel important with my name. I think if I put some butterfly shapes and some colorful flowers to show that I like nature. Also a pet to let people know that I love cute pets. however next project if I have a chance to do similar thing than I will include all of those things i said.
While I was doing my edition I noticed I never studied about me. So it was hard for me to explain myself. When I started think and realizing what I like and what I don’t like, I just surprised. From now on I want to know more about Hanaa.

He was born in 1948 and he is an american painter. He was also a photographer and been news photographer in 1974. He wasn’t only painter and photographer he was also a writer and editer of “Newsweek International Special Projects”. Since 2002 he started to focus on mixed- media paintings with climate changes and other environmental issues. In those last year he did mixed-media paintings by series, which called “Angels in the Visible Spectrum”.

these two arts are Jim McNitt's arts. Both of them are mixed media and related to environment.
Things I can see: fish, tall angel, titanic, giraffe, Australian flag, long string,factories
This art work is related to environmental. As you can see giraffe on the titanic and also on water, behind that there are factories, which represents city and pollution. i think titanic with australian flag is saying australia is saving the lives from pollution, and giraffe is representing the animals and other lives on earth. Also tall angel is holding fishes to save them. But I really wonder why he drew the angel so tall. He could have drew it flying. may be he wanted to show she is an angel and also a mother earth, that's why he didn't drew her as flying.

Things I can see: apartments on fire, door angel, box
this is also related to environment. I think he tried to show "people changed the own world" by this artwork. The angel is holding stock tool, which might warning us to fix the world. However the wall is separating the angel from the city, so showing she can't enter to the city to fix.
As you can notice that both arts are about environment. That means he loved environment and worried. Also he included angel in both arts. It might meaning to heal the earth, because angels heal everyone.
Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo was born in 1907. She was born in Mexico. Her father was Germany and her mother was Spanish. And her husband was Diego Rivera. She had very hard life with his husband. Because of her stress from her life she started drawing. She drew about herself portrait. She did not only draw her face, also drew animals leaves other things on background of her art works had all each meanings, which explains Frida Kahlo, herself.
This is portrait of herself. All her arts show her life and her characteristics. I think this art is showing that she caught by something, which really makes her hurt. in this picture even she hurts she didn't express anything on her face. It might tells that in her real life she hides her emotion. If you see the background you can see animals and leaves, in one word nature. For me it looks like she loved nature and calmed down when she was in nature. Also monkey looks like trying to release the strings around her neck and black cat is being careful from something but bird looks like putting more strings around her neck. I think those three animals are showing different characteristics in her. This art is just an example other arts of her shows more and more about her.

People I will ask:
Family
I chose my family because I think my family knows me better and can tell me what i missed in my product, which can express me. Maybe they can give me more true and useful advices. I asked 6 people from my family members and they all answered similar. However they gave me good and interesting different advices that I could have included and changed.
Advices that my family gave:
- should have highlighted my face
- should have made it more colorful
- could have added different emotion of my face so that people can notice I am very emotional
- could have given strong contrast to my face to show my smile, which can show that I am happy girl :D
I think my product is not good enough, because my family members could answer what I wanted. They couldn't see any definition about me. However I learned many things from my mistake, so next time I will try harder and spend more time to think about myself. Also I realized I didn't really make times for knowing me.
